Injections

Trigger point injections (shots) with anesthetics (bupivacane 0.25%) relieve pain in some people with chronic pelvic pain. Recently, research has shown that injections with Botulinum Toxin A have decreased pain scores. Injecting Botulinum Toxin A into the genito-femoral and ilio-inguinal nerves or into spastic muscles with trigger points has been successful in people with high tone pelvic floor dysfunction.
